I loathe advertising. <\/strong>
No, really. This is how advertising feels to me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's not really my fault: <\/strong>I was raised by the Supreme\u00a0Pontiff\u00a0of Ad-Hating (that\u2019s my dad) who banned\u00a0any form of it\u00a0in our house.
The show we were watching on TV got cut to commercials? You would hear a very loud \u201cAAAD!\u201d, then he\u2019d leap towards the remote and change channels. More advertising there? Change again. Advertising everywhere? He\u2019d cut the sound until it was over.
Lorsque nous enregistrions des films sur cassette VHS (oui, je suis de cette g\u00e9n\u00e9ration), il stoppait l\u2019enregistrement au moment de la coupure de pub, faisait un bref\u00a0rembobinage, pause, puis avance image par image jusqu\u2019\u00e0 ce que pas une trame de publicit\u00e9 ne soit conserv\u00e9e sur la bande. Puis il relan\u00e7ait l\u2019enregistrement une fois que le film repartait. On perdait peut-\u00eatre quelques secondes de film avec ce montage en direct, mais par la suite on pouvait appr\u00e9cier la cassette dans son int\u00e9gralit\u00e9 sans interruption. C\u2019\u00e9tait sa petite fiert\u00e9 : \u00ab\u00a0Tu as vu ma coupure ? C\u2019\u00e9tait parfait !\u00a0\u00bb
He is insane, isn't he? I agree. <\/strong>Mais je suis aussi contente qu\u2019il le soit. D\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9cole primaire, je savais \u00e0 quel point les images peuvent manipuler. La folie de mon p\u00e8re m\u2019a appris tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t \u00e0 garder un esprit critique sur ce que je voyais. Bien s\u00fbr, j\u2019\u00e9tais un peu exclue de certaines conversations \u00e0 la r\u00e9cr\u00e9 (\u00ab\u00a0Tu as vu telle pub \u00e0 la t\u00e9l\u00e9 ? Elle est trop marrante\u00a0!\u00a0\u00bb), mais \u00e7a ne me d\u00e9rangeait pas. Pour tout dire, j\u2019\u00e9tais assez fi\u00e8re de jouer la snob de service qui\u00a0ne se laisse pas avoir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jadis, lorsque les smartphones n’existaient pas encore, je devais parfois imprimer un billet de TGV achet\u00e9 en ligne : ces ignobles pages \u00e9taient couvertes\u00a0de pubs alors qu\u2019elles auraient pu \u00eatre r\u00e9duites \u00e0 quatre lignes et un code QR. Mais noooon, il faut nous offrir les meilleurs prix d\u2019h\u00f4tels et 30% de r\u00e9duction sur les voitures de location si vous r\u00e9servez avant 13h.
